The new Staywell500 Infra-Red Cat Flap represents the most technologically advanced electronic pet door on the market today.
Your cat wears a battery powered infra-red 'key' on his collar which unlocks the pet door from a distance of about 6". Staywell provides one collar key with each pet door. If you order additional keys, you may choose their color and we will ensure that all keys match. These collar keys are water resistant; not water proof.
The door includes a 4-way lock which allows for 'in only' and 'out only' settings in addition to the normal 'open' and 'closed'.
Normal operation is expected to be about a year using 4 'AA' batteries. The optional transformer allows for operation from house current with battery back-up. I would suggest a 6 month change.
